Base collects clothing and supplies for local homeless centre

      By       Posted in Part L

Last month, the Base Energy team were hard at work collecting warm clothes, blankets and toiletries to donate to the Whitechapel Centre.

The Whitechapel Centre was set up in 1975 to support the needs of homeless people in Liverpool and is just a fifteen-minute drive away from our Liverpool head office.

The project, led by managing director, Pete Kinsella, saw over 100 items collected, most were warm winter clothing, toiletries and even some Christmas gifts.

Speaking about the collection, Pete said: “As a company, it’s really important that we do our bit to help out some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

“The Whitechapel Centre is a local charity which is very close to our hearts and we wanted to do all we could to offer support to those people that need it the most.

“I’m really proud of the whole team who rallied around neighbouring businesses to get them on board so we could make a real difference.

“The Whitechapel Centre and South Sefton Rotary Club will be our designated charities for 2018, so we will continue to offer support and donations to them throughout the year through various fundraising efforts and initiatives.”
