Base rounds off the year with new Sheffield office opening

Just in time for Christmas, we have opened our first regional office in Yorkshire.

The new “base” is situated in Sheffield and will be headed up by senior sustainability consultant, Allan Jones.

Allan, a former LABC employee, joined our team in February this year- all the way from Barcelona, where he was working as a freelance consultant.

Speaking about setting up the practice, Allan said: “Sheffield is a unique city. It manages to retain a strong community feel and grassroots vibe, with easy access to the stunning greenery of the peak district, whilst also aspiring to economic growth and dynamism.

“New development is gathering pace there and the council is working hard to attract investment back into the region. All over the city centre, cranes can be seen and there are several new large projects in the pipeline such as the redevelopment of The Moor and the Sheffield Retail Quarter.

“Geographically- setting up a Yorkshire presence made logical sense for us, as there is so much going on and it will give us access to large urban centres on the other side of the Pennines.”

Peter Kinsella, director at Base said: “As a company we have achieved so much this year.

We have had three new team members join us, including Allan, and setting up a regional office in Sheffield is simply the icing on the cake for us.

“We’ve wanted to do this for a while and having Allan’s help and expertise on board will help us to unlock new opportunities and drive our business forward in the region.”

The addition of the Sheffield office to the Base portfolio brings its total number of regional offices to three.
